URGENT... POWER SYSTEMS SPECIALISTS
Power Studies, Planning, Protection & Ops - KUWAIT
Our client is a British leading International Power and Engineering Consultancy with projects worldwide. Their Middle East Division is currently Consultant Company to the Ministry of Electricity and Water in Kuwait providing services of power system studies, planning, operation and protection. They are currently seeking expert and specialist Engineers for Planning, Studies, Operation and Protection Engineers for the Kuwait Power System.
Duties will include to organize and arrange the work schedules, solve technical problems and prepare detailed reports and recommendations for the implementation of the solutions, train Ministry of Electricity & Water staff in different aspects of the power system planning, studies, operation and protection, compile comprehensive reports for each field of specialisation to be submitted to the Ministry every 3 months.
Our client is seeking applicants for Expert and Specialist Engineers in four categories:-
· POWER STUDIES ENGINEER to have good experience in using PSS/E Software programs to conduct system studies such as load flow, short circuit, transient stability etc. Analysis for system dynamic behaviour, peak and minimum load, voltage flicker, harmonics, compensation, tuning of the available Dynamic Simulation Models. Conduct and submit reports for Load Shedding plans and Network Islanding Schemes.
· POWER SYSTEM PLANNING ENGINEER to establish the possible development of the entire power system, including power generation and transmission system and conduct strategic planning of the Ministry requirements 5-25 years ahead resulting in a master plan.
· PROTECTION ENGINEER to have good working experience using PSS/E and ASPEN One Liner Software programs so as to study and review the present relay settings for all kinds of protections and make recommendations for improvements and changes for better power system reliability and stability.
· OPERATION PLANNING ENGINEER to coordinate and accord approval to the scheduled annual maintenance programmes of the different elements of the power system and to plan short, medium and long term power generation and transmission resources.
